Second hand Hermès at CSD

We are a consignment store on Marylebone Lane in London. Private owners consign their pre owned Hermès with Consigned Sealed Delivered, and every item is checked in-house by our staff prior to listing. On each product card you see an estimated retail price and the percentage saved, so a used Hermès bag or belt can be measured against the price new. We ship worldwide, Klarna, Clearpay and PayPal spread the total into instalments, and UK delivery is free on orders over £300. No listing is repeated: every item is a single piece. Anyone asking where to buy pre-owned Hermès in London can visit Marylebone Lane or order from csd.shop. Hermès sits among the preloved designer houses on csd.shop, next to the rest of our labels.

Is Hermès a luxury brand?

Yes, Hermès is a luxury house, and it began as the workshop of a harness-maker, Thierry Hermès. Hermès is a Paris house founded in 1837 that sums up its own history as six generations of artisans. Hermès preloved pieces at CSD come from private consignors, and the CSD team checks them in-house before they go on sale. Birkin vs Kelly and Hermès vs Chanel are comparisons our editorial guides cover in depth.

Hermès Birkin, Kelly, Picotin, Constance, Herbag, Evelyne, Garden Party and Lindy

The Birkin was born in 1984 on a flight from Paris to London, when the actress Jane Birkin told Jean-Louis Dumas, then executive chairman of Hermès, that she could not find a bag that suited her as a young mother. The house describes it as a supple and spacious rectangular holdall with a burnished flap and saddle stitching. Hermès names the Birkin 25, 30, 35 and 40 among its sizes. Past listings of a second hand Birkin at CSD have included the Birkin 35, and each pre owned Birkin bag is listed with its condition and label. The Kelly is older: Robert Dumas, who had married into the Hermès family, created the ladies' bag with straps, and it took its name from a photograph of Grace Kelly. Hermès keeps the Kelly trapezoid and makes it from size 40 down to a mini Kelly format. A pre owned Hermès Kelly listing shows the condition and the label, as every preloved Birkin listing does. The Picotin takes its name from the feed bag for oats used with horses; it is unlined, closes with a tab and padlock, and comes as the Picotin Lock 18, 22 and 26. The Hermès Constance bag dates from 1967, carries the name of the designer's daughter and fastens with an H-shaped clasp. The house lists the Herbag among its bag lines, and past preloved Hermès listings at CSD have included a Herbag Zip and a Herbag in canvas and calfskin. The Bolide and the Jypsiere are also on the Hermès list of bag lines, and both have been listed at CSD. Vintage Hermès has featured too, from a Kelly 32 in black box leather to a Constance 24 in the same leather. The Evelyne bag is known for its perforated H; fashion histories date it to 1978, when it was made as a hands-free carryall for the riding department. The Garden Party is an everyday holdall, in leather for the city or canvas for the country. The Lindy is named after the Lindy Hop dance and is carried by double handles set on its sides. Second hand and used Hermès handbags, preloved Birkin bags included, also have a page of their own, Hermès bags, where each preloved bag can be compared with the others listed. That page gathers pre loved Hermès bags and second hand Hermès bags for sale, the bag side of our resale.

How much is a Hermès Birkin bag?

A Hermès Birkin bag at CSD costs the second hand price on its product card, which also gives the estimated retail figure new and the percentage you save. That pre owned Hermès price, set against the retail estimate, is how every card reads, from a Kelly to a belt.

How much is a Hermès scarf?

A Hermès scarf at CSD is priced second hand, and its product card gives the estimated retail price next to the percentage saved. The house makes its 90 cm carré, the classic Hermès silk scarf, in silk twill with hand-rolled edges, in France. A preloved Hermès scarf or a pre loved Hermès carré gets the same in-house check as every other piece. Second hand Hermès scarves and Twilly styles are grouped under Hermès accessories. A crocodile leather Hermès scarf ring has been listed too.

Hermès belt and Oran sandals

A black leather H buckle belt is among past second hand Hermès belt listings at CSD. Each pre owned Hermès belt listing gives the condition, the label and the size. The Oran is a calfskin sandal with the signature H cut-out, a leather sole and a heel of about a centimetre, made in Italy. Hermès sandals second hand, the Oran among them, are grouped on our Hermès shoes page, and each preloved pair shows its UK size.

Hermès apparel and jewellery

Hermès apparel at CSD has included silk kaftan dresses, a black wool knit dress and silk shirts. Tops have their own page, Hermès tops, with the condition, label and UK size on each listing. Hermès resale at CSD has also included luxury clothing beyond tops, and jewellery such as enamel Clic H and Clic Clac bracelets and a Collier de Chien bracelet. Past Hermès accessories have included a Médor watch, a Kelly wallet and a silk tie.

Hermès pre owned women's sale

The Hermès pre owned women's sale at CSD is simply the price on each product card, set beside the retail estimate and the Save percentage. Hermès pre owned products online at csd.shop are priced the same way, with the retail estimate and saving on the product card. To buy used Hermès bags in the UK or a used Hermès purse, pay in instalments through Klarna, Clearpay or PayPal. Collectors looking for Hermès second hand pieces can read what our checks cover on the quality control page.

Sell your Hermès on consignment

Hermès consignment at our store is simple: CSD sells your piece on your behalf and pays the owner a consignment payout after the sale. Bring your bag, scarf or belt to our Marylebone Lane store or post it in, and an emailed quote follows within two to seven business days. You have seven days to accept a quote. The consignment payout to the owner runs from 65% to 85% depending on the resale price, so up to 85%. CSD also buys outright, occasionally and selectively, when it likes a piece. London owners of a large collection can ask about White Glove Pickup.
