Moncler is a mountain-clothing house founded in 1952 in Monestier-de-Clermont, where entrepreneur René Ramillon made jackets to keep workers warm in the French Alps. Two years later, mountaineer Lionel Terray worked with the brand on a collection for the Italian Karakoram expedition, whose climbers reached the top of the world's second highest peak.
